Apple TV teams up with Peacock to launch $15 streaming bundle

Just days after Apple announced it was dropping the “+” from Apple TV’s name, it has revealed a new partnership with NBCUniversal to create a streaming bundle that includes both Apple TV and Peacock.

The bundle will be priced at $15 per month and include Apple TV and Peacock Premium Plus (with ads), offering over 30 percent savings compared to subscribing separately to each service. For reference, Apple TV costs $13 per month, and Peacock Premium costs $11 per month, so you’re saving about $9 a month. A second bundle, which includes Apple TV and Peacock Premium Plus (ad-free), will also be available for $20 a month.

The Apple TV and Peacock bundle will be available starting October 20 exclusively in the US, and you can sign up for it through either service’s website or app.

As part of Apple and NBCUniversal’s new deal, if you’re an Apple One subscriber on either a Family or Premier plan, you’ll also be able to subscribe to Peacock Premium Plus and receive a 35 percent discount, negating the need to get the bundle. Apple is calling this benefit the first of its kind for its Apple One subscription, which bundles together the company’s popular paid services, such as Apple Music, Apple TV, and iCloud+.

Along with launching this new streaming bundle, the Apple TV and Peacock apps will soon feature an “extensive sampling of each other’s shows.” So, on Apple TV, you’ll see a curated selection of Peacock shows, and some Apple TV shows on Peacock.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this all-inclusive bundle of incredible programming and to bring Apple TV’s beloved shows and movies to more viewers in more places,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple TV, in a press release. “From acclaimed originals to can’t-miss live sports, the Apple TV and Peacock Bundle unites the best of entertainment in a simple and seamless experience.”

Apple TV has had quite a busy year, premiering a new season of Severance, starring Adam Scott, and the debut of a new series called The Studio, starring Seth Rogen. Both have been critically acclaimed and won numerous Emmy Awards. Apple’s F1 Movie will also make its debut on the streaming platform on December 12. Peacock is the home of everything NBCUniveral, including shows like The Office, Ted, Saturday Night Live, and movies from Universal Pictures, such as How to Train your Dragon.

Both Apple TV and Peacock increased their prices earlier this year, with Apple TV rising $1 to $13 per month, and Peacock Premium up $3 to $13 per month. So, this bundle mainly helps offset those price hikes if you’re subscribed to both services.
