Google has announced a series of updates to its artificial intelligence services, including Gemini, NotebookLM, and the AI-powered search tool. The improvements cover support for audio files, the addition of new languages, and expanded report generation formats, aiming to make the platforms more versatile and accessible.
One of the main highlights is Gemini’s new audio file support, a feature identified as the most requested by users, according to Josh Woodward, Vice President of Labs and Gemini.

The functionality allows the model to process audio content, broadening interactions beyond text and images. The feature is available to free users as well, though with restrictions. In the free version, users can upload up to 10 minutes of audio and submit a maximum of five prompts per day. Paid subscribers under the Pro and Ultra plans enjoy significantly higher limits, with the ability to upload up to three hours of audio for analysis.
Another key update is the expansion of the Google AI search mode, which now supports five additional languages: Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. This enables users in these languages to perform more complex and contextual searches, leveraging the capabilities of Gemini 2.5 to understand nuanced questions and deliver more comprehensive answers. The expansion demonstrates Google’s goal of making its AI tools more widely available across global markets.
The third major update involves NotebookLM, Google’s AI-powered organization and content generation tool. The platform can now produce reports in multiple formats and supports more than 80 languages. Users also have the flexibility to customize the style and tone of their reports, tailoring content for different needs.
This update aims to better serve both professionals and students who require adaptive reports for various contexts. Google has indicated that the feature will be fully rolled out by the end of the week.
Reports are getting a MAJOR update starting today (buckle up, this is a big one 🤯):
