Meta Ray-Ban Display: Smart Glasses With Screen, AI, and Gesture Control

The Meta Ray-Ban Display are the company’s most advanced smart glasses to date, combining the classic Ray-Ban design with a built-in display, artificial intelligence, and gesture-based controls. Announced by Mark Zuckerberg at Meta Connect, the glasses will launch in the US on September 30 for $799, a price on par with flagship smartphones like the Pixel 10.

A Built-In Color Display

The highlight of the new model is a monocular color display integrated into the lens. It offers a 600 x 600 resolution, 20° field of view, and an impressive 5,000 nits of brightness. This allows users to check messages, view photos, get walking directions, access real-time translations, and perform Meta AI searches with ease.

Gesture Control With the Neural Band

A key addition is the Meta Neural Band, a wristband using electromyography (EMG) to read muscle signals from the wrist. This turns small finger movements into commands like swipes, clicks, and in the future, text input, offering a more natural way to interact with the glasses.

Hardware and Battery Life

  • Six microphones
  • Open-ear Bluetooth speakers
  • 12 MP camera with 3x zoom
  • 6 hours of mixed use battery life

The charging case adds another 30 hours, while the Neural Band lasts up to 18 hours and includes IPX7 water resistance.

Features and Apps

  • Messaging and calls via WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram
  • Real-time video calls directly from the glasses
  • Camera viewfinder mode for photos and videos
  • Step-by-step pedestrian navigation (beta in select cities)
  • Live captions and translations in multiple languages
  • Music playback controls with wrist gestures

Price and Availability

The Meta Ray-Ban Display launches in the US on September 30, 2025, priced at $799 including the Neural Band. Sales will take place through Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Ray-Ban stores, and select Verizon outlets.

An international release is planned for early 2026, starting with Canada, France, Italy, and the UK. Customers can choose between Black and Sand frames, as well as Transitions lenses that automatically adjust to lighting conditions.
